Wedding Photos

Many couples enjoy the wedding photos from their special day for many years after the wedding is over. The traditional shots of smiling faced individuals standing in a row are enough to bring back many happy memories of the day. Some individuals would like more than just the traditional photos to remember their special occasion.

If more wedding photos than just the traditional spread are wanted or needed, then there are several options that the couple hosting the wedding can explore. Each way will produce tons of pictures for the couple to keep and cherish for a long time.

The first way to obtain additional wedding photos of a more natural nature is to ask the photographer that has taken the traditional photos to continue snapping images at the reception. This usually must be arranged far in advance and will raise the estimate considerably. Having the wedding photographer continue to take photos of the guests and activities at the reception will ensure that all of the images are of good quality and, because the photographer is an expert, the candid photos of moments during the reception will be in focus and centered as well as any professionally done photo can be. Some wedding photographers will only do staged wedding shots so it is important to ask if they are willing to take more pictures when creating the contract for the job.

If the professional photographer refuses to take candid wedding photos or their price is out of the range of your budget, then there are other ways to obtain the pictures that you want. One way is to find amateur photographers that may be willing to take the candid photos for you for a small fee. These individuals are usually serious about their hobby and may even be taking photography classes to perfect their technique and become a professional photographer. Individuals that would be willing to perform the job for you can usually be found by placing a classified ad in the local paper, in a student newsletter for a local college, or on a local online site. The individuals that respond to the classified ad will need to bring a portfolio of their photography work with them when they interview with you so that you can see whether or not they are capable of producing good photographs.

Another option for obtaining candid wedding photos is to purchase a number of disposable cameras and leave them on the tables for the guest. Inform the guest that you would like a few people to take some shots for you using the disposable cameras which can be returned to be developed as the reception is ending. This is a great way to involve the guests in the wedding proceedings and obtain some wonderful photos for your wedding album.
