Wedding Favors

Many couples like to give wedding favors at the end of their reception to thank their guests for attending their wedding and reception. This shows the guests that their presence was appreciated and shows generosity on the part of the hosts. There are many items that may be used as favors, may be given for a number of reasons during the wedding reception. The giving of little tokens of appreciation during and at the end of the reception is a tradition that has lasted for many years and one that will not end soon.

Some individuals that are hosting a wedding are unsure of what kind of items to use as wedding favors. The truth is any type of present may be used as a wedding favor. Some individuals choose to give away items that are engraved with their names and the dates of the wedding, but this is not always necessary. Other individuals choose gifts that the individuals that receive them will be able to use. Common thank you's include candles, gift baskets, gift cards, household items. One of the most popular items to give at the end of the wedding reception is the wedding centerpieces. Whether they are flowers that will last a day or candles that will last a year, many people prefer the wedding centerpiece as a reminder of the day.

For some weddings, the wedding favors are given away as prizes for certain actions. In these cases, they may be raffled off or distributed by who sat in what seat. There are numerous ways to distribute little gifts during the reception in fun and amusing ways. Some couples also choose to have small favors available for distribution to all of the guests at the end of the reception to appease those who did not win a larger item. These small favors can also be almost any item that would appeal to a wide range of people.

Wedding favors should be carefully chosen to ensure that they will not offend anyone that receives them. Refrain from using gag gifts as wedding favors as they might not be well received by the guests that receive them. Items having to do with hygiene, such as soaps and bath products, should also be avoided when choosing appreciation favors. The favors that are chosen should be unisex, in order to appeal to whoever may receive it. Choosing the right gifts will show the guests how much you appreciate their support of your marriage and can inject some fun into the proceedings as well.
