Valentine Day roses have long been the standard romantic gift to give for Valentines Day. While many of the roses given on Valentines Day are a deep, rich red, do you really know what message you are sending with red roses? If not, you might want to check out the following list before you send the wrong message.

Red Roses - naturally speak of deep, abiding love and passion whether given as Valentine Day roses or for any other occasion.

Yellow Roses – express friendship and may give the wrong message if you are in love. However, if the recipient is from Texas, then yellow roses are the perfect gift anytime of the year.

Pale pink roses that are almost white may not be the best choice for Valentine Day roses since they express gentleness, gratitude and grace.

Baby pink roses might be a good choice for Valentine’s Day roses if you want to tell the recipient how much fun and happiness they bring to your life.

Deep pink roses express “Thank you.”

Lilac roses might be a good choice early in a relationship for Valentine Day roses since they express that the sender has experienced falling in love at first sight and is now enchanted.

White roses speak of innocence and truth, as well as saying “you are missed”.

Coral or orange roses are the considered to be the color of passion and desire.

Peach Valentine Day roses might not be the wisest color choice as in addition to gratitude and appreciation they also represent sympathy.

If understanding what the single color roses might say to the recipient, you must also know what sending a bouquet of roses of different colors. To express harmony you would send white and yellow roses, while red and yellow roses celebrate happiness. If you want to speak of bonding as well as harmony then send red and white roses.

The nice thing about red for Valentine Day roses, you do not have to break the bank to express “I love you.” A single red rose will convey that same message without being frivolously extravagant. So even when funds are tight you can send roses for Valentines Day and express your true feelings.
