Stages in Pregnancy

Understanding the different stages in pregnancy development is an important part of the pregnancy process. The three stages of pregnancy, also known as trimesters, affect the body in different ways and have different complications that may occur. Knowing what changes the body will undergo in each of the different stages will help a woman understand what changes to expect and help her recognize any issues or complications that may arise.

Not every woman will experience all of the changes that can happen during pregnancy development and some may experience more extreme bodily changes than others. There are some common changes that every woman will experience during pregnancy and those are the ones that every woman needs to know.

In the first stages in pregnancy development, the woman has just become pregnant and the baby is just beginning to grow. The hormonal changes within the body can cause morning sickness as the woman becomes used to the high levels of hormones in the body. Hormonal changes will cause the breasts to begin to swell in anticipation of feeding the newborn child.

The hormonal changes will also cause the skin to produce more oils to keep the skin flexible and stretchy, which causes the pregnancy glow that surrounds most women but can also cause pregnancy acne on the face and body if the excess oils are not removed from the skin. In these stages in pregnancy development, the body undergoes multiple changes at once, which can cause fatigue and muscle weakness.

In the next stages in pregnancy, the baby will begin to grow rapidly and the woman will begin to experience the sensations of the baby moving inside of her. These are the stages of pregnancy development where the woman will begin to experience heartburn, difficulty sleeping, and back pain from the added weight in her abdomen.

Exercise during this period is very important in order to maintain an ideal weight and keep the muscles of the body strong. During these stages in pregnancy development, the stomach will begin to distend rapidly to accommodate the child growing inside and the pregnancy will begin to show. This is also the stage where many women need to go and purchase maternity clothes to fit their growing figure.

In the last stages in pregnancy development, the baby is finishing their development and the hormonal levels of the woman change once again to prepare for childbirth. The feet begin to swell and back pain occurs more frequently because of the extra weight carried in the abdomen. The woman may also experience false labor pains as the baby moves into position for birth.

The baby will be moving more frequently and the motions will become progressively stronger as the baby gains strength. As the labor pains begin and the woman begins to experience contractions, the birth of the baby is imminent and the last stages in pregnancy development are almost complete.
