Mothers Day Events

There are a variety of Mothers Day events by which you can honor your mother on Mothers Day. My absolute favorite is to take her out for a Mothers Day lunch. In particular, my husband and I have a tradition that my mother-in-law loves of taking her out for a Mothers Day brunch at one of her favorite local restaurants.

We usually come by her house with a lovely cluster of yellow baby roses which are her favorite. I really believe we could show up with almost anything, well almost anything, and she would love it.

More than anything, I think a mother wants to know that she has been in her children's thoughts. So by bringing a small token and in this case it being flowers that her son and daughter-in-law know are her favorites, she has expressed many times over the years that she knows how appreciated she really is. For her it is not the act of receiving a present but receiving a loving "gift".

The Mothers Day brunch that we bring her to usually also gives flowers to all mothers in attendance as well. Since my mother-in-law loves flowers this is not a redundant gift. She would love getting all types of flowers all day long if she had the option.

Also as a resident of the area for many years, my mother-in-law also gets to visit with many of her friends at the same brunch. What greater happiness can a mother have during any kind of Mothers Day event than showing off her children and grandchildren to her friends!

After the brunch, we will usually return to her house and spend the remainder of the afternoon with her. It is usually a low key time but what makes it important is simply not taking her out and then dropping her off like our duty has been done for the year. It lets her know that she is special and that her family actually likes her!

There are no Mothers Day events like the one that makes a mother. Get your baby shower invitations here.
