Jungle Baby Shower

A jungle baby shower theme can be a lot of fun to plan and even more fun in the execution. From the décor, to the games, to the menu, a baby shower with a jungle theme will be a treasured memory for the mother-to-be.

Location – The best place for a jungle baby shower would be in the back yard, patio or deck next to the pool. With all the natural greenery, you won’t have to do a lot of decorating. A few strategically placed large stuffed or cutout jungle animals and some tiki torches will give that jungle theme, especially if you hold the shower after dark so you can use some great hanging lanterns and twinkling lights. Cover a chair set aside for the mother-to-be with a leopard or tiger-print throw.

Menu – Have a cake decorated with baby jungle animals, such as tiger cubs, lion cubs, monkeys, baby elephants, etc. Serve nibbles such as dehydrated banana, pineapple and mango chips and animal cookies. Meat and cheese kabobs can be funs as can a cheese fondue.

Game – A great jungle baby shower game is the “You Thought Nine Months was Long!” game. Make a list of different jungle animals down the left side of a sheet of paper. On the right side write down the number of days the different jungle animals are pregnant. The guests much match the right animal to the right number of days gestation for their species. The guests are sure to begin feeling sorry for some of these animals who can be pregnant for a lot more than a year!
