If you are thinking of sending holiday greetings this year, you may want to consider holiday post cards to send to friends and family members. Sending post cards with a quick note jotted on them is a tradition that is typically used while individuals are on vacation and want to let individuals know how their trip is going. Because of the popularity of post cards at other times of the year, many greeting card manufacturers have begun creating post cards for the holiday season as well. Holiday post cards resemble regular postcards in every way except for the images placed on the outside of the card. These images can be anything from Santa on his sleigh to beautifully decorated Christmas trees to visions of a snowbound cabin in the woods. These holiday images represent the best parts of the holiday season and will bring a smile to the faces of all that see them.
Post cards for the holidays are smaller than traditional holiday greeting cards and have a much smaller writing area on the back of the card. Half of the blank side of the post card is needed for the address of the recipient and the stamp. The other half is used for a small quick note to the recipient, wishing them a happy holiday season or letting them know that you have been thinking of them. Some individuals choose to have unique holiday post cards made for their family to send to loved ones. There are several different ways that unique and personalized post cards can be obtained. They can even be printed with a special message already present in the blank writing area. One way that some people choose to obtain unique post cards for the holidays is to have a formal portrait taken by a professional photographer and used as the image for the post card. This portrait can be of a single individual or the entire family depending on the wishes of the individuals ordering the post cards. The post cards will typically be finished in the same amount of time that it usually takes a professional photographer to develop prints from your pictures. Another way that individuals can create unique holiday post cards is to create the image for the post cards themselves. These images can be drawings that someone in the family has done or the children’s handprints in holiday colors shrunken down to fit on the post cards. The images that can be placed on these post cards are only limited by the imagination.
