You will also need something to write with on the hand-crafted holiday cards. Many crafters choose to use markers for the messages, both wide markers for the outside of the cards and thinner markers for the message inside. The colors of the markers chosen should greatly contrast the color of the paper used to create the card so that the writing will be highly visible.

There are several different ways that onel may place the images that they want on their handmade holiday cards. Some crafters like to use stickers of holiday items and place them within their own holiday scene, while others choose to use stencils to decorate the card. Some hand-crafted holiday cards use a large amount of glitter in their decorating scheme and others use ribbons or fabric to create the wanted images. Before you begin making the homemade greeting cards, you should decide on the message that will be placed inside of the card. By planning what the interior message should say beforehand, you ensure that you can focus on the outside decorating for each card because the message inside is already taken care of. It will also ensure that the image and the accompanying message will make sense when viewed together.
