|
For a woman that has been trying to get pregnant, recognizing the first symptoms of pregnancy is very important. There is nothing that will make a woman happier than finding that her efforts to get pregnant and have a child have caused her pregnancy. There are several first symptoms of pregnancy that a woman should be on the lookout for as they are the most likely indications of pregnancy and will often prompt the woman to take a pregnancy test. Any single symptom or combination of symptoms can indicate the possibility that the woman has become pregnant.
One of the most common first symptoms of pregnancy is a woman missing her period. In fact, a missed period is the most recognized symptom of pregnancy as it tends to only occur if the woman is pregnant. In some cases, the woman’s period does not stop completely when she first becomes pregnant but can be very last and last only a couple days. If a woman misses her period, it is important that she take a pregnancy test soon to determine whether or not she is pregnant. After the symptoms of pregnancy appear, it is very easy to harm the fetus through ignorance. It is important that the woman stop drinking, smoking, and handling certain chemicals as soon as she receives confirmation that she is pregnant to avoid harm to the unborn child. Another one of the early symptoms of pregnancy that the woman should be on the lookout for is unexplained nausea. This occurrence of nausea, also called “morning sickness”, happens because of the high levels of hormones flooding the body once the woman has become pregnant. These hormones are needed to prompt the body to undergo the changes that are needed to accommodate the baby growing inside. Unfortunately, the high levels of hormones make the woman ill and can cause vomiting on a regular basis. In most cases, the nausea subsides after the first trimester, but some sensitive women may experience morning sickness throughout their entire pregnancy. Some of the other first symptoms of pregnancy include headaches, tenderness of the breasts, swelling of the breasts, frequent urination, and fatigue. The appearance of any of the first symptoms of pregnancy is a pretty good indication that the woman is pregnant. All pregnancies should be confirmed by taking a pregnancy test and the woman should discuss what she should expect with her healthcare professional. It is very important that the woman receive adequate healthcare as soon as the first symptoms of pregnancy appear to ensure the health of her and her child.
