Earliest Signs of Pregnancy |

When women are attempting to become pregnant, being able to recognize the earliest signs of pregnancy can come in handy. There are several signs that occur within weeks of the woman becoming pregnant and all are good indicators that the woman has become gravid. When reviewing pregnancy symptoms, it is important to remember that all women are different and may not experience all of those symptoms. In some cases, the symptoms will appear quickly, while in other cases they may not appear at all. Although the earliest signs of pregnancy are good indicators of a positive pregnancy result, a pregnancy test should be taken to make sure that the individual really is pregnant.
The most easily recognized of the earliest signs is a missed menstrual period. Women may miss their menstrual period as soon as two weeks after conception and a missed period is considered by some to be the definitive sign of pregnancy. If a woman’s period is late for more than a week, she should take a pregnancy test to confirm whether or not she is pregnant. There are several reasons other than pregnancy that can lead to a woman missing her period, including stress and illness. Even though a missed period is considered one of the earliest signs of pregnancy, it does not mean that every woman that misses a period is pregnant. Morning sickness is also considered one of the early signs and a signature indicator that the woman has conceived. Morning sickness can occur at any time of the day or night, but seems to be more pronounced in the early morning hours after the woman has awakened for the day. This special type of nausea happens because of the high levels of hormones that flood the body during the first several months of pregnancy. These high hormone levels cause some of the other signs, including the swelling of the breasts to prepare for milk production and the expansion of the womb which has been known to cause pregnancy cramps. Unfortunately, many women do not handle the high levels of hormones well, causing them to become nauseous and causing them to vomit. In most cases, morning sickness disappears after the first trimester of pregnancy, but it can last through a woman’s entire pregnancy. Being able to recognize the earliest signs of pregnancy can be beneficial for women that are trying to get pregnant as it provides an additional confirmation of pregnancy. After the earliest signs of pregnancy have been observed, it is very important that the woman have the pregnancy confirmed by taking a professionally administered pregnancy test. If the pregnancy is confirmed, the woman’s physician will discuss available options and nutritional needs to ensure that the baby develops properly. Waiting to get pregnant can seem to last a lifetime, but knowing the early warning signs can make the wait a little shorter. Did you remember the Baby Shower Invitations? |
