When it comes to obtaining beautiful holiday cards to send to family and friends this holiday season, sometimes the best route is to create them yourself. Handmade or hand decorated holiday cards are more meaningful than the cards brought from the store and creating your own cards is a fun and interesting way to spend an afternoon.

There are several different options for those that choose to create their own beautiful holiday cards. The way that the they choose to create their cards depends on the individual’s design preference and their level of artistic ability. This is not to say that you have to be an artist to create your own holiday cards, but be sure to choose decorating items that you are comfortable using.

Some individuals decide to create their beautiful holiday cards from a blank page. These cards can be created using construction paper or card stock paper that is available at any neighborhood stationary or office supply store. These types of paper come in numerous colors and thicknesses, allowing the artistic to choose the one that is right for them.

There are many options available for materials to decorate the beautiful holiday cards. Some people choose to use markers, colored pencils, or paints to create the designs for their holiday cards. For those that are unable to draw or paint well, there are many different types of holiday stickers and stencils available that a person can use to create a scene on the outside of their cards.

To enhance the images on the card, an one may choose to use additional decorating supplies to make their crafted holiday cards even lovelier. Different colored glitters may be used on the cards to create a shimmering scene or ribbon may be used to give the image some depth. There are even fake snow decorating items available to allow them to make their design into a lifelike snow scene.

Those that are skeptical of their artistic abilities have several options for creating memorable holiday cards. One option is to have a professional photographer take a picture of the family for the design of the holiday cards. A personal message can even be added before the cards are printed.

Another option for creating lovely holiday cards is to create them on the computer using imaging software. Many printers will be able to handle printing the cards on card stock or the designs can be ordered from a card manufacturer’s online site. There are many different options available for those that would like to create beautiful holiday cards.
