Baptism Invitations and Announcements

Baptism invitations and announcements are sent to announce the first important event in your baby’s life. Whether your child is being christened, baptized or dedicated, this is a formal occasion that requires a customized invitation or announcement.

Invitations and announcements for an infant baptism or christening should contain specific information and details. So that your guests have plenty of notice, you should order the invitations far enough ahead of time so that you will be able to mail them out at least 6 weeks in before the date of the event.

Normally, the guests will include family and close friends; those people who will be part of your child’s life as they grow up. This may also include members of your church, parish or congregation who will be a part of your child’s spiritual development.

Because this is a formal occasion, baptism invitations and announcements should not contain any abbreviations. The wording should also be more traditional, requesting the guest’s presence at the baptism, christening or dedication of your child.

Include the day, date and time of the ceremony, as well as the location of the ceremony. It is not necessary to include the state, unless out-of-town guests are being invited. It is not necessary, however, to include the zip code.

Again because baptism invitations are sent for a formal occasion, RSVP cards should be included. Be sure that there is a self-addressed, stamped reply envelope included with the RSVP card. It is useful to have a “reply by” date so that guests are reminded to reply.

Whether you want to go very formal or somewhat more casual, InvitingSmiles has the christening and baptism invitations and announcements guaranteed to make this event totally memorable.
