Baby Shower Prizes

What exactly are baby shower prizes? Well, they are small gift items that are given to the baby shower guests. Also called “baby shower favors”, these baby shower party gifts can be given to the winners of the fun baby shower games. They are often given as a “thank you” to the guests for coming to the shower.

We asked some of our online friends to come up with their best ideas for baby shower prizes. These folks are incredibly creative and presented suggestions for small gifts that ranged from items to tempt one’s sweet tooth, to items meant to contribute to pampered relaxation, to those gifts that would grow with the seasons.

Those baby shower prizes that tempted the palate seemed to come primarily flavored in chocolate. Although there was one idea that featured placing mini liquor bottles inside of clear baby bottles with blue or pink ribbons tied around the neck of the baby bottles.

Some of prizes meant to provide a bit of pampering to the recipient are bath and body products; such as lotions, fancy soaps, and scrubs. These types of items do not necessarily have to cost a lot either. One of my sister’s favorite body butters was a gift from me that I purchased at the local dollar store.

Other suggestions offered for baby shower favors were more of a home décor type of item. Some of these were the most unique and creative ideas, such as packages of flower seeds, decorative candles or even seasonal potted plants. Such as this woman’s: “I gave nice houseplants as baby shower game prizes! The women at the shower loved the beautiful plants and everyone appreciates some new plants for their home.”

As you can see, baby shower prizes come in a wide variety. For the most part these are thoughtful gifts meant to show the gratitude of the mom-to-be and the hostess for the attendance of the guests. These favors don’t have to cost a lot of money, but they should express your appreciation and take into consideration the occasion and perhaps the intended guest’s likes and personality.
