- A wow baby gift for dad would be a certificate for a day of golf from local course. Give dad that day for himself because once the baby is born it will be all about baby for a while.
- A 3-hour all-you-can-drink bar tab for the day after the baby shower…he'll need it! (Include a pre-paid fare from a local cab company, so the dad can get home safely).
- A good gift to give the expectant dad at a baby shower would be diapers that are rolled up and arranged to look like a cake (add nose plugs in with the gift for a laugh).
- Another idea for baby shower gifts for dad is a drill, wrapped of course in pink or blue ribbon. This is a gift that he can use throughout the child’s lifetime from putting together the crib to putting together the first bike to building the play house in the backyard.
- I would get the dad a gift certificate to one of his favorite stores, which is easier that picking out a gift that you are sure he will like. Maybe you can get him a bottle of his favorite wine or liquor. Also a gift basket with a lot of snacks, nuts, chocolate would be good.
- One of the best baby shower gifts for dad that I’ve seen was a man’s toiletry bag filled with items for surviving labor and delivery. Beside the usual travel-size toiletry items of razor, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, the kit included lotion (massaging mom’s feed), a crossword puzzle book (dad’s boredom), a deck of cards (to entertain mom between contractions), a stopwatch (to time the contractions) and a roll of quarters for the coffee vending machine.
- A fun gift I have seen given to a first time dad is a "survival bag". In this bag there is a pair of gloves for changing diapers, a surgical mask for changing really smelly diapers, a bottle of No-Doze to stay awake on those sleepless nights, a bottle of aspirin for headaches after staying up with fussy baby all night, a baby rattle or jingling toy to distract unhappy baby, a burp cloth just for dad own special use, and last but not least, a gift card for a restaurant for when Dad and Mom finally get a date night after baby arrives.
