Baby shower gift baskets are a fun and creative way to gift a new mother-to-be at her baby shower. While you can go online and order from a wide variety of gift baskets for new babies, with a little creativity you can create some beautiful gift baskets. The first step in creating baby shower gift baskets is the “basket” that is going to hold everything. Of course the “basket” can always be a…basket; woven, round or square, with or without a handle. Then again, a little imagination may come up with a toy wagon, a baby-sized rattan rocking chair, a baby bath, a bassinet or a diaper bag as the “basket”.
The basket can then be lined and padded with a soft and plush baby blankets, a receiving blanket, or soft baby towels. Depending on the size of the basket, it can also be lined with onesies, burp clothes, or a set of crib sheets. The next thing is to fill the basket with a variety of small gifts. You may want to follow a theme, for example line a baby bathtub with a couple of baby towels and washcloths. Then fill it with baby shampoo, wash, baby powder, baby lotion, brush and comb and a couple of outfits. Here are just some ideas some friends suggested for items that they considered perfect for creating baby shower gift baskets.
I like to give things that I used often on my children when they were little. In baby shower gift baskets I include diapers, Johnson & Johnson products for bathing, wash clothes and hooded towels, rattles or small toys, receiving blankets and perhaps a bottle or two. I might include some lotions and a book for the mom. I am a huge fan of the diaper cake, but to purchase one pre-made is expensive. However, one can be made with little effort, and much less capital! Diapers can be rolled, and tied with string or small rubber bands (my choice). Also, it can be fun to replace diapers with rolled onesies, burp rags, or bottles, and then disperse them throughout. For each level of cake, fold a baby blanket diagonally and wrap it around the tier, securing it with ribbon. At worst, this may take two hours, but you'll have the best gift at the shower, one that won't soon be forgotten! With all of these ideas and suggestions you should have no problem creating beautiful and memorable baby shower gift baskets for baby, mom or even dad. |
